IMPORTANT:
Read instructions completely before starting installation.
We recommend that the instructions and diagrams be printed for easy
reference during installation.
Before starting installation, check that all FreshWash components
are available, that the unit fits the toilet to which it will be added,
and that the water shutoff valves to be used are working properly.
FreshWash LUX models require access to a 10 Amp grounded GFCI outlet,
located on the wall within reach of the unit's power cord (give cord
length). The outlet is available, do not install until the outlet
is replaced with a properly-safe 3 prong version.
INSTALLATION SAFETY WARNINGS
|
- Electrical
cord must be at least 2.0M long.
- If
installing an electrical socket, ensure that is at least 30cm
above the floor.
- Wires
must be grounded to prevent electrical shocks. Connect ground
wire to metal water pipe or the fixing support of the basin.
- Do
not ground to a gas pipe or a lightning rod of telephone
wire, as these may conduct lightning to the product.
- Install
only in well-ventilated areas to avoid excess humidity. Do not
install in narrow toilet stall or in shower stalls.
- Install
only where direct contact with water is minimized.
- Do
not install near any heat source.
- Avoid
using extension cords if possible. Use only to prevent leakage
wherever bolt and nut are applied where extension cords are necessary.

| Step
1: |
Removing
the existing toilet seat and lid. |
| |
|
Unfasten
the nuts and remove toilet seat and lid. |
|
| Step
2: |
Installing
the FreshWash water connection. (Diagram 1) |
| |
|
Turn
off the toilet's water shutoff valve on the water supply pipe.
Drain
the toilet tank by flushing the toilet normally.
Place
a pan or bowl beneath the shutoff valve and the pipe connecting
the water supply to the toilet tank to catch any water left in pipes
when unfastening the coupling nut on the pipe. Unfasten the connecting
pipe by unscrewing the coupling nuts. Be careful not to damage the
pipe.
If
the connecting pipe is not flexible, replace it with the flexible
pipe provided.
Insert
the rubber wash into the T-joint to prevent leaks and attach the
T-joint to the water supply pipe after placing the TEFLON tape on
the thread of the pipe, firmly tightening the coupling nut.
Attach
one end of the flexible pipe to the top of the T-joint and the other
end to the water intake of the toilet water tank. Tighten firmly
by hand. Do not use tools as they may damage the flexible pipe.
Close
the remaining T-joint connection and open the water shutoff valve
to check for leaks. If the T-joint leaks, check that the rubber
washer is seated properly and gently tighten the valve connector
with a plastic wrench.
|
|
| Step
3: |
Placing
the main unit on the toilet. (Diagram 2) |
| |
|
Measure
the distance between two mounting holes of the toilet bowl. Insert
the bolts provided into the holes at the base of the FreshWash seat
at the appropriate distance.
Place
the rubber pads around the bolt holes on the toilet, and lift the
FreshWash unit onto the toilet.
Lift
seat and cover and insert the bolts into the proper holes on the
toilet as shown in diagram 2. Place a nut on each bolt and tighten
with plastic tools to hold the FreshWash unit firmly in place. Apply
gentle pressure only to avoid damage.
|
|
| Step
4: |
Hooking
up the water supply for the main unit.
(Diagram 1A,1B) |
| |
|
Connect
the end of the tube to the remaining T-joint, connect the other
end of the tube to the stem elbow, and connect the stem elbow to
the tap water connect. Tighten firmly by hand. Do not use tools
to tighten.
(With
the pressure control - where tap water pressure is greater than
normal, add the pressure control) As shown in the diagram 1B, connect
the pressure control to the remaining T-joint (Follow the water
stream direction which is marked on the pressure control unit),
connect the elbow to the pressure control, connect the one end of
the tube to the elbow, connect the other end of the tube to the
stem elbow, and connect the stem elbow to the tap water connection.
Tighten firmly by hand. |
|
| Step
5: |
Grounding
the unit. |
| |
|
The LUX unit must be grounded to operate safely. Attach the green
ground wire to the ground terminal or the metal pipe. DO NOT attach
to a plastic pipe, as this will not ground the unit. DO NOT attach
to a gas pipe, telephone wire, or lightning rod, as these may conduct
lightning charges to the unit. |
|
| Step
6: |
Checking
that the unit is functioning properly. |
| |
|
Open the water shutoff valve slowly to check that there are no leaks.
If there are leaks, turn off the water supply at the valve and tighten
connections. Teflon tape is strongly recommended to be applied at
all connections to prevent leakage.
Check that the unit is seated firmly on the toilet and that water
is running into the warm water tank.
Plug in the power cord and check that the unit is functioning properly.
Apply weight to the seat to activate the nozzles placing a cup or
your hand over the nozzles to prevent water splattering. Spraying
will cease automatically after 40-60 seconds.
Save the toilet seat, cover, and pipe removed in installation so
that the toilet may be restored to its original condition if desired.
